Moving into a new house is extremely overwhelming. There is so much to be thought through and checked. We had to coordinate the movers with the old tenants of our new place
to make sure they were fully out before we got in. We had arranged to have the house fully serviced on the day we arrived, we wanted the plumbing, electrics and gas all checked through and tweaked it it needed it. When we pulled up in the first of three large moving trucks I saw the plumbers ready to get to work on all the pipes and drains throughout and around the building. I wanted to get ahead if we needed any drain repair, Melbourne winter wouldn’t wait for us! While dealing with getting all the boxes to the right rooms I heard one of the plumbers from outside calling for my attention. I am glad we arranged for this full house check through as they had found some problems with the drainage system outside. Some of the drains were pretty clogged and he recommended we undergo some drain cleaning. Melbourne was just moving into the wet winter so the last thing we wanted were blocked drains. I told them to do whatever they needed to do and give me an invoice at the end. I feel I may regret that decision. Luckily all the electrics and wiring checked out so no need for any repairs there. Now I just had to make sure we didn’t end up with beds in the living room and fridges in the bedrooms. I just kept telling myself how worth it it would all be once we were settled in. Our old house was just too small for our growing family, the size and location of this one suited us so much more. With the drains cleared and boxes unpacked we were able to settle into our first night in our new manor, and boy oh boy, it was glorious!
