Unexpected Shade

admin August 12, 2024 Windows Leave a Comment

This morning started like any other, but little did I know it would turn into one of the strangest days I’ve had in a while. I arrived at work at the Maple Building, a place known for its sleek, modern design and impressive window tinting. People often say it gives the building an almost otherworldly presence.

I was particularly excited today because I had a new gadget to test out—a device designed to check the quality of glass. My plan was simple: I’d activate the device outside the building to see how it worked. What could possibly go wrong?

As I stood outside the Maple Building, ready to test the device on one of the windows, something caught my eye. A woman, seemingly out of nowhere, walked by with a slow, almost dreamlike gait. She wasn’t floating, but her movements were so graceful and fluid that she might as well have been. It was as if she was in her own world, completely oblivious to the bustling city around her.

For some reason, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. The device in my hand was suddenly forgotten as I watched her meander down the street, her presence both calming and unsettling. I found myself wondering who she was and what had brought her to this place. Was she a local, or had she wandered here by chance, drawn to the Maple Building’s mysterious aura?

As I stood there, lost in thought, I realised that I had completely forgotten about my original plan. I knew very little about commercial window tinting, near Melbourne there was so many buildings with the shade film installed it seemed so normal. I finally had the device in my hand, but I had lost all interest in testing it. Instead, I found myself wanting to follow this woman, to figure out what made her so intriguing.

But just as quickly as the thought came, it faded. The woman turned a corner and disappeared from view, leaving me standing there with my strange device and an unfinished mission. I shook my head, trying to make sense of the odd encounter, and decided that perhaps today wasn’t the best day for testing strange gadgets after all.

As I headed back into the Maple Building, I couldn’t help but laugh at how quickly my day had taken a bizarre turn. Maybe the building really did have some kind of mystical power, or maybe it was just another odd day in the life of someone who spends a little too much time in a place known for its fantastic window tinting. Either way, I knew I wouldn’t be forgetting this day anytime soon. That night I reflected on my day with a cup of hot chocolate. I was fortunate to live such an interesting life.
