So, back to the grind again. It was a nice holiday, while it lasted. Walked along the beach, found some seashells, listened to the sea, had coffee, then basically did the same thing every day. So nice. While it lasted.
Oh, and then I come back to find that we’ve completely shifted office to the one next door, and nobody thought to mention it. I Walked into the old office like a complete wally, only to find aluminium scaffolding up all over the place and a load of workmen who seemed confused to see me. To be honest, I was confused to see me. Been working there for three years and I’ve never wandered into the wrong building before. Turns out the hall of amazing scaffolding actually was the wrong building…though it was the right one after I’d left.
Apparently they’re converting the place into a puppy shelter, so I can see why we moved. It’s got the garden access, plenty of space to run around, and I know a few folks from here who’d love to volunteer, so they won’t be short of those. Just makes me wish they’d actually told me, before I wandered into the forest of metal scaffolding and become lost in its maze of wonders.
It wasn’t so bad. The work people asked me what I was doing there, I told them this used to be my office until recently, and they were really nice about it. I even got to tell them about my holiday. Nice people. And then they showed me where my new office actually was. No thanks to you, Dave. No, it’s fine, Dave. Just laugh when I say I went to the wrong place, Dave.
Still, I get to come back to a new puppy shelter being built next door, so that’s definitely a plus. Once they clear out all the folding platform steps, it’ll probably be a really nice place to run around. And no one will go on holiday ever again.
