If there’s one thing Brisbane doesn’t really need, it’s one more theme park.
That is, one more normal theme park! That’s where Grown-Up World comes in. Now, let me set your fears to rest; it’s not exactly what it sounds like. In fact, Grown-Up World is essentially just like a normal kids’ theme park, sort of like an indoor play centre on steroids. The only catch is that it’s for adults only, with children not allowed within the confines of the park.
There’s a growing movement of adults taking their kids to birthday party venues for hire in Brisbane, and indeed, all of Australia, and watching with melancholy as their kids have fun. Society has decreed that this stuff is off-limits, and childish, and we should put all that stuff behind us when we turn twelve or whatever age. Yeah…because climbing frames are just for kids! Using your imagination is just for kids! That’s utter silliness, and people are starting to realise.
Indoor play centres definitely have their place, since they allow children to congregate and explore in a safe environment while the parents get some degree of a break. But imagine going to a play centre, but not having to watch the kids, because there ARE no kids. Instead, it’s all there for you to just let go and be a kid again. Or…be one of the new breed of adults who are taking back ‘kid stuff’ and making it for everyone again. The whole reason we started this was because there were thousands congregating online and sharing the same idea.
Not that we want to step on the toes of any of the kids party venues. Brisbane has a bunch of great places for kids to party in a supervised and safe environment right now. But then, it’s not like we’re taking away their business. Just…using their business model, for different clientele.
