The ferraria undulata is without a doubt my favourite flower. Not just because its name sounds like an undulating ferrari but mainly because of its complex beauty and deep maroon colour. I plant a bunch of dormant bulbs every spring and await for summer for them to flower and grace my yard with their elegance. I love it when spring rolls around and I get to work planting all my spring flower bulbs. It’s like getting a fabulous new haircut or a new outfit, I get the same buzz when I see my flowers start to bloom over the season. This year I’ve invested in quite a few different bulbs as I want my garden to bloom as if it were full of wild flowers competing for sunlight as they all grow on top of each other. When my daughter told me she wanted to host her engagement party here in Summer I immediately got to work designing the perfect spread of flowers to surround our guests. Luckily I am now able to order an incredible selection of spring bulbs online. I may have gotten a little click happy and ordered enough for a small forest but who doesn’t love a heap of flowers! My daughter often berates me for my flower obsession but it seems she at least appreciates the beauty of my efforts, she made me promise that I wouldn’t go over the top and try and win any landscaping words. I decided it was best to cancel the bespoke hedge trimming I had ordered then. It was an amazingly accurate hedge silhouette of my daughter and her fiance. I tend to get a little carried away so she has asked me to supply her with receipts of everything I order for the party. She doesn’t know about all my online bulb ordering though!
